Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

We need consistent standards, and must deal with terrorism of all kinds. Nothing else is going to be safe enough, or reasonable in other ways.

Almarst , I posted a lot of things solo yesterday, trying to get some things organized. And trying to get my own mind organized about ground that has been covered on this forum. The hope was that I could find a bit more focus, and sharpen things, after review. Or that others could.

Simple, basic points, that people shouldn't have to be told. .. I was talking of nukes here, but the subject was crafting a workable peace, in general. A thought experiment made sense to me then, and does now.

EVERY competent negotiator has to know this, and in the areas where negotiations work well, the parties do. Ever tried to control things, with all pluses and no minuses, or all minuses and no plusses? . . . Either way, if things are going in the wrong direction, there's no reversing them. That's stupid.
