Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans
for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be
limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI
all over again?

Heavens ! I got so upset, looking at your post, that I lost
focus, and stole my wife's beer.
What do you mean?

Now, even sooner then I expected, America is facing a choice: Be
a Global Policeman or a pluralistic demacracy (at least whatever
still remaind there of).

"...A secret turning in us makes the universe
turn....-Rumi"
Within a hidden pocket... Of a baby's tiny soul... God's hand
reached in and gently placed... Six coins, all made of gold.
To each I give some gold said he... And he who does not spend...
Shall find that only lead remains... Upon his journey's end.
I passed my years of childhood... In laughter love and fun... But
as I stepped across to manhood... I heard Him saying " One ".
I held her close in pale moonlight... Her eyes were deepest
blue... My heart beat out "I love her God"... I heard Him saying "
Two ".
One night she whispered yes, that she... Would be a wife to me...
And as I knealt to thank Him... I heard Him saying " Three ".
Our first child brought me happiness... I'd never known before...
My heart sang to the Heavens... I heard Him saying " Four ".
Years passed and then a grandchild... Made an old heart come
alive... Gentle was the voice that said... "That coin was number
Five ".
When I spend the last He gave... It's then I know I'll see... The
kingdom of the One who gave... Those precious gifts to me...

A poem I memorized as a child.

Seems to me, she has a distinguished, productive one,
gisterme .
Nice to see something from you, gisterme , that has some
aesthetics and human warmth to it.
Thinking back on most of your postings, something that's notable
is how stark and merciless they are.
And how stunningly impractical many of them are, in a world
where, so often, life has to be sustained by communities.
