Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

On a Billy Graham approach he should at least weigh up the situation and think about how Jesus would think.

When the 21st Century clashes with the 14th Century Talibhan mind .. how is this best handled?

Some might say - 'educate the 14th C mind up into current day thinking'! Bring 14C social/environmental conditions in the real Afghanistan - for the true Afghan people (currently flying out of Afghan into the arms of PakistanTalibhan or sailing towards Nauru - into a renewed modern Afghan environment.

A big fireworks display -- CNN coverage -- isn't going to do a thing to assist world peace.

The European viewpoint is -- bring these guys to trial.

Killing the guys is creating martyrs ... putting them behind bars after a trial where they could weave eternal sack cloth dreams ... is a far more practical solution.

John SIMPSON - respected bbc foreign correspondent has sensible things to say on Afghanistan.

- 13000 army protect the 'wanted' man

- Afghanistan has a semblance of peace after years of chaos - be it cloaked in medievalism

- were America to spend 1/10th that (Missiles) that was flung at Afghans by Clinton - this would be sufficient to start to build the country up towards modernity
