    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

The lasar based program, and probably everything in missile defense, should be shot right between the eyes for fundamental technical reasons -- even if there is a threat -- because the stuff doesn't work --- most of it certainly can't, and the one piece that could, with good execution and diplomatic compromise with the Russians, will probably be botched. Loyal people, such as congressman, by trusting too much, can find that people have been making monkeys out of them.

If I were Congressman Curt Weldon, I'd feel very ill used by this administration. He was misled, and put into a very awkward and false position when he hosted Leading Scientists Push Missile Defense on CSpan. http://www.house.gov/curtweldon/missiledefense.html

I think anyone in either the House or the Senate who has trusted the administration on missile defense has been ill served.

They are being misled again today

A key point, from a Russian point of view, by almarst.

For a safer world, we need stability -- not a new arms race --- and this time, much of this US generated arms race is a technical fraud.

Haven't we been through this before...Tax cut, increase of military budget, less money for social programs?..This great missile shield looks like another pork barrel approach to a floundering economy...Didn't Ike warn us?

I find it highly unlikely that such an apparently unworkable system such as the ABM defense would be such a hot push by the current administration. It is my belief that the missile defense system is a cover for the deployment of a far wider and far more advanced system of Earth and spaced based energy weapon systems. I do not take this stand lightly. Quite a few high ranking military officers and others have recently come forward to bring this and other information out publicly. The stated reason being but not limited to, the accusation that these weapons, the men controlling them and the targeting of various air and spacecraft have escaped constitutional controls. They are asking for congressional hearings with immunity. For details see disclosureproject.org.

Thanks for your interest in my opinions. You took a great deal of effort to organize them.

Becq -- Your opinions are worth reviewing, I believe. I had a very interesting time with you on September 25th, especially.
