Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans
for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be
limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI
all over again?

Sadistic and unbelievable it may or may not be. But compared to
the matters of life and death involved with military things -- a
minor matter.
The EU should make sure of things that, in its own interest, it
needs to.
How many times, and in how many ways, have the NATO allies been
misled by the Americans (perhaps with some complicity of people who
"knew, but didn't) ?
The question should be asked in detail, and staffed and
checked to a reasonable closure.
The US Congress should adress similar questions in similar ways.

Kissenger - Pinochet meeting ... it s headline news every day for
a year. But a secretary of state whispers sweet nothings to a
violent dictator, and the mainstream media is bored to death. ...

Or not; but how convenient that is for you. You just assume that
whomever doesn't agree with Robert is a "Geroge Johnson" moniker.
Who's next? Gisterme? No doubt.
As a taxpayer I hope the CIA isn't paying "George Johnson" or
anybody else to dog poor Robert. That WOULD be a waste of money. I'm
sure that Most Americans (and at least one Japanese) would agree
that, whatever politicial persuasion they may follow, most of what
Robert writes is way out there on the left edge. I'd allow that
communists might be the exception to that statement. Dogging Robert
isn't necessary for that to be obvious to most who read more than a
little.
I think the problem is that Robert just can't imagine so many
people don't agree with him. He's so far out on the fringe that
wheter discussion comes from liberal Democrats or conservative
Republicans (or anywhere between) they all seem consistent to Robert
because they all come from HIS distant right. You may call that
conspiracy, lunarchick; but I'd call it DENIAL.
I have to wonder, since Robert isn't in a foreign country, why
you think the CIA would dog him when he would clearly be within FBI
jurisdiction if he committed some federal crime? Frankly, I wouldn't
be surprised if the FBI IS at least aware of Robert since he
publicly incites knowledgeable-sounding persons to commit treason
every time one pops up. Is it that a FBI conspiracy doesn't sound as
glamorous and important as a CIA conspiracy?
George Johnson seems to have debased himself with regards to
the behaviour one would expect from a Journalist. It has to be
argued that he has tried to 'drag down' the reputation of The
NYT.
I thought you said that "George Johnson" wasn't the same as the
NYT journalist but rather a "pesudo-journalist". How do you know
that the "George Johnson" you alledge isn't just another moniker? It
might really be Darth Vader.
All this seems like an awful lot of flap over an alledged person
who has never appeared as a poster on this forum. Based on my own
observations here I'd say it's all much ado about nothing and that
Robert is his own worst enemy.

With these charges, that's all you can muster,
gisterme?
You may be a little too secure.
