    Missile Defense

Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI all over again?

Look, if the past were clear, and the lies stripped away, some healing might be done, and all might be forgiven ---- maybe.

But the situation has to be clear -- the past has too much to do with the future -- and there are now so many lies in place that stable relationships can't be set up until a more truthful set of records is in place -- so that nation states that have to negotiate peace and cooperation are "reading from the same page."

Things should have been clarified in 1991 -- the Russians really haven't known what hit them -- and it has been a disaster.

It took 45 years to 'let go' suggesting they may have been very traumatised by WWII.

With the crash of USSR in 1990, so too a crash of funding and education scholarships to many people of the 3rd world who looked to USSR to assist their education and professional development.

The USA didn't seem to be a big hit in Latin America .. siding with the Far Right Political Wing --- when the democratic population were electing to oust corruption and move forward.

I'm off, too. Sorry for all the links -- but a lot of discourse came to focus -- and it seems to me that the basic concerns that need to be adressed for a much more stable peace, and for nuclear disarmament can be adressed -- cleaner, more surely, and sooner, than missile defense could ever do.
