Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans
for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be
limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI
all over again?

I think the fact that we all need to know is that whether the
system is satellite based theater system or if it is deployed by
other means, there is NO possible way to accurately test the nuclear
missile defense system. The best test we can perform is by computer
analysis and for that is not a safe bet. The administration hopes to
convince the American people that the world is so dangerous and out
of control that the ONLY way to be safe is to build this system.
Once the people are sufficiently scared, the government can convince
them of anything. I recently watched a show that mentioned how if we
spent all of our time watching the news we would want to lock
ourselves into our room and never come out for fear of the
destruction that obviously awaits us. Russia is not yet out of the
game, we should keep our eye on them and continue the reductions and
other plans to reduce nuclear weapons rather than antagonizing a
country that continually has their pride broken over and over and
over.

Jeffery Brannon, you poor misguided slut! The liberals have you
so befuddled, you can't even make a coherent argument. Not defend
ourselves? Are you an idiot? Ask a policeman if a bullet-proof vest
covers him 100%. Of course not. Now ask him if he'd like to enter a
firefight with or without it. ANY deployable defense is better than
none. It took them a while to perfect the weapons didn't it? But
they kept at it, and look what they've got now. Let's give it a
chance, Babe. I know I would rather have it for my family and future
generations. What about you??

Welcome to Mayday America, time to towel down after rolling in
the dewy dewy grass .. or is that giving State Secrets away?

Bwsh ... can anyone give us the handbook for Missile Base Ball
...the rules, the pitch, the gloves, the teams ... "So okay, Which

said "I know what you're playing at?"

National missile defense is a bad idea. Technically, it is
extremely unlikely that any system can be devised that can not be
easily fooled and penetrated by unsophisticated measures well within
the capability of any "rogue" nation. At the same time, the
political and strategic fallout from deploying any system (and
abandoning the ABM treaty) is likely to increase the actual threat
to the US far more than any missile defense can decrease it. And,
finally, it defends only against the least likely means of attacking
the US -- a missile strike with a return address attached. It will
do nothing to prevent the far more likely threat of smuggling
weapons into the US -- indeed, by weakening the system of
international agreements underlying global cooperation on
non-proliferation, it makes such an attack more likely.

Too much 'man head thinking' coming through:
Each nation has a mixture of people from all countries of the
world ... short term for this is the 'human race'.
The ideologies people hold used to be local-national, but, with
advances in technocommunications they are now either retrograde,
current or progressive.
No nation is an island ... the world is INTERLINKED, ideas and
philosophies are most often supranational.
A problem for the USA is it currently has a president who
'pickled his brain and body organs' in alcohol for years ... and now
Americans expect him to actually 'function' .... excuse him while he
adjusts his strings!
Interesting how the peoples of many nations have been held
prisoner to bad leadership .. say a fool or madman or wizzened-brain
were in charge of the USA ..
what would you as a nation want to do about it? What
would external nations whose populations were threated by a
fool-madman-wizzendBrain think of it?
The falacy is to read this board in terms of 'missiles ... as in
equipment' better to read it as 'wisdom ... as in sound leadership!'
People are the rogue factor!
