Russian military leaders have expressed concern about US plans
for a national missile defense system. Will defense technology be
limited by possibilities for a strategic imbalance? Is this just SDI
all over again?

She sure did ! There is A LOT of information around on the
internet -- and the main cost is reading it -- assimilating it all.
A piece of the enemies "classified" information (which may be
disinformation) comes to you days-weeks-years late, is fragmetary,
and may cost hundreds of dollars a word -- and there is precious
little of it, and you don't know how it fits, and can't trace that.
Some trade !
PEOPLE SHOULD WORK IN CLEAR IN THE NEW INTERNET WORLD, WITH
FEW EXCEPTIONS.
Clear's safer. And significant things are getting harder
to hide all the time.

A little work on Markov chain statistical usages, to go with LSA
statistical usages, a little more experience, and just a little time
for computer power to get cheaper --- and it will be harder still.
The major nation states ought to cut out most of the cops and
robbers, and learn about each other -- enough to cooperate, or
compete, peacefully.
Life's too complicated for anybody to "invade" anybody else, in
any way that makes much sense.
Everybody would be a whole lot richer and safer.
And if we don't - with nuclear instabilities as they are, and
with cocksure, insanely misguided people walking around, on both
(all sides) and with the equipment degenerate . . . the world could
end.
Seems to me like a good reason for us to learn to talk. And learn
to lie less.
