Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Saudi Arabia - execution-er
Saudi Arabia had one of the highest rates of executions in
the world, inadequate trial procedures and feeble evidence
requirements.
She said it also employed a range of torture techniques to
obtain confessions, including beating of the soles of the
feet, use of electric shock devices and the extraction of
nails.
Cruel judicial punishments - such as amputation - continue
to be imposed

"Top CBS executives are deeply concerned that Sunday
night's GRAMMY Awards may turn from a celebration of music --
into a giant anti-war political rally
"The CBS executive warned microphones may be unplugged
on Sunday night if live performances turn political.
"It, of course, is a final option [to cut the
microphone.] But it's a very real option,"

"...If gisterme is speaking for Bush, he doesn't have
the luxury of idealistic stances that can't work..."
Gisterme does not speak for President Bush. However
what you say is true of us all. Nobody has the luxury of
taking idealistic stances that can't work. Anubody can do that
for a while but the consequences are terrible without
exception.
A rich fool and his money are soon parted. A powerful fool
and his power are also soon parted.
You should seriously consider your own advice, Robert. In
my view you're far more in need of that good advice than I am.
It's you who appears to be the ideologue here.
