    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

COMMUNICATION ... USA-RUSSIA ... is falling in line with Gisterme's post (above) whereby Putin is shifting ground a little towards the US viewpoint wrt Iraq. ...

COMMUNICATION - Propaganda Wars | Summary:
Around the world the spin cycle has been set to war, but it's not just the hawks who are fighting for air space, anti-war activists are funding and making their own ads.
This week we speak to the US advocacy organisation 'Moveon' about their attempts to break through the mainstream media barrage.
We'll also take a closer look at the relationship between the Australian media and the military PR machine in the lead up to possible conflict.
COMMUNICATION ... is seen as the major failure .... communiction between 'social workers | police | Hospital staff' has to be improved. "Victoria was seen by dozens of social workers, nurses, doctors and police officers before she died, but all failed to spot and stop the abuse as she was slowly tortured to death." (UK .... social work report)

COMMUNICATION ... Mexico ..... was seen as the reason why Mexican Forces shot down a helicopter of 'police' (and killed them all) by 'mistake'. nb These 'drug enforcement police' each had to pay to operate as 'police' and in order to 'pay' this fee they carried out 'illegal' actions. (Documentary on The-drug-wars)

Well these have been interesting posts.

And very fine oscillations and reaching out for harmonizing actions. I like it.

Whatever happens, whatever bet is won or lost, I will still be tuning in. Carry on good internet forum participants.

Let the dots continue to be checked.

"Our good relations with the United States do not mean that we have to agree with all (US) positions. We do not agree with everything, and speak out against some US decisions," he (Putin) said.
