Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Johnston's ego apart there is subject matter on this thread.

HUMAN RIGHTS are surfacing at the overwhelming reason -- that people WILL accept --- to overthrow dictators.

Butler (above) says Saddam has killed ONE MILLION PEOPLE .. that's a number equivalent to the number of Australians out in the world working away from home 1/20th of our population.

The Iraqi women in Paris - I posted had concerns that their familes being shot, beheaded, tortured ... was criminal on the part of Saddam and his 'family' and tribe.

The question that someone may address is why isn't the HUMAN RIGHTS aspect the pathway the USA follows?

An opportunity I hope Robert takes. However, I don't believe he wants to shed his delusions. I think it's the (to him unseen) delusions that define his own self worth. I also think the same delusions prevent him from amounting to much. That's a common occurance with heavy pot smokers. Maybe that's the problem.

I'll bet 10 to 1 that Robert won't accept your challenge to check. There's too much potential there for his little world to be rocked. His ego might not survive such a dose of reality.

I can also honestly say that that's a bet I'd like to lose.

A lot of diversionary twaddle being churned out here by Johnson ... and no comment on world matters relating to Iraq or North Korea wrt missiles.

Does this mean that the USA doesn't know which way to jump wrt international relations at the current time?

Then of course there's this STATE of the UNION address ..... no guesses for what's in this upcoming speech!

I'm sincere about it. I've driven up to Madison a number of times. It's just a few hours away from where I live. Bob'd take I-94 south to Rockford and then turn east to Chicago. He could do his checking without any expensive, fancy P.I. bills. No cloak and dagger. Just a couple of guys sitting down and having a little conversation. I'll meet him at a café and buy him a drink of his choice. I have a degree in math, so we two ought to have lots to talk about--after I prove to him I'm who I say I am and not the famous Mr. J.

I've always felt Bob was a bright guy off on the wrong track. If discovering his error about me throws a switch that heads him back in the right direction, even a little, it would be worth it.
