Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

If people - worldwide - are starting to view the world from
the HUMAN RIGHTS perspective ... why aren't 'dictators' being
framed thus?
Nation on Nation is about SIDES - which side? who's
right/wrong?
Human Rights are about rights!
What rights should women in Arab nations enjoy - and why?
Why aren't Saudi women allowed to DRIVE?
How much does it cost NOT to allow women to DRIVE and WORK
in a National Economy?
TABOO-s
Who's more screwed up about sex - the Arab culture or Deep
South America?
Why won't the USA fund educational programs that use
'correct terminology' for the human reproductive organs ....
why can't KindyKids speak those words?

When you use the words in an agreement to justify actions -
it is important to ask. Could the interpretation of words you
want to use now have permitted you to get that agreement when
it was made. Sometimes, when there is a record, it can be
clear that the interpretation being pushed is not the one that
the record supports.
Representatives of the United States made a great many
promises - and said a great many things - in the course of
negotiating the last Security Council agreement on Iraq. I
hope they will be remembered.
Gisterme simply says - Robert, you're all wet. Well,
people can look for themselves.

republicans lock, stock, and barrel.
Bush has lied daily since the beginning of his campaign,
nothing his administration says can be believed.

The Bush administration is being shifty all right - but for
the life of me, it is hard to look at the way things are
unfolding - and not be hopeful. I know I haven't been as
concise as I should have been about defining oscillatory
solutions - but sometimes it looks to me like the Bush
administration understands them very well. If Bush himself
doesn't, Condoleezza Rice surely does. . . .
Gisterme , it seems to me that sometimes it is my
patriotic duty (and pleasure) to keep you waiting, and maybe
even mislead you a little bit, but I'll offer a 0th order case
of a oscillatory solution.
A digital instrument (say a volt meter). Always muddled
about the last digit. Might be muddled between
- 6.3275 volts and - 6.3274 volts
as an example. The last digit might go 5 4 5 4 4 44 4 4 5 5
5 - just flow around statistically. Never exact - never quite
right - when the read is nearest to accurate - the last digit
goes would alternate - for instance
5 4 5 4 5 4 5 4
- - - an oscillatory approximation.
But the answer at a lower level of resolution is
stable - the oscillation is small - and of
reasonably well know size and stable .
Back when I feel like it.

The Russian News Agency Interfax today quoted a senior
military official of the Russian Armed Forces as stating that
the USA will attack Iraq.
“According to the data we have, the operation is planned
for the second half of February. The decision for its
execution is already taken but is not yet public” - http://english.pravda.ru/main/2003/01/23/42471.html
