    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

Bishops defy Blair with tough anti-war message http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/story.jsp?story=363619

"Leading bishops are to preach this Christmas against a war with Iraq in messages that openly defy Tony Blair and his government.

Preaching is important. Here's a sermon that I value, that I've posted here a number of times. It is about judgement - and risks we face that I believe this thread is making less likely. When the Foundations are Shaking by James Slatton http://www.mrshowalter.net/sermon.html

One way we achieve better judgement is by "collecting the dots" and "connecting the dots" - and communicating about ideas.

This board contains more than "just preaching" but contains some appeals as well.

Comment : Looking back at 6901post zone :

The income of all Arab zone (including oil) is less than that of Spain

    Check in UN Report 2002 August
    (benchmark on statistical status of Arab countries re economies, health, education, income etc)

Finding the right message

    for Arabic youth
Have to ask - what message do they have now - presumably a 9/11 misconception

Have to get the message over that the success of their geo-zone has to do with their vision, planning, economic effort ... which has a lot to do with people getting skills-competency, wisdom-can~do-knowledge, letting WOMEN in as KEY PLAYERS, having a feel as to where their economy~people~nation want to be in 5~10~15~20 years time even with 'continual and fast change' related to IT implementations.

For youth, success has to be the empowering of individual minds, educating minds
(mass-IT check-marking using unique~security~id to track individual's progress and give credit and feedback)

Youth need standards of decency to live by, to be accepting of all people's and gender, to have aspirations enabled.

So the message will have
the Negatives of the NOW and
the Potentials~Positives of the FUTURE ... then it's a matter of making sure that the youth~adults of the world do have futures ...
do have a place to be ...
do have status ...
do get paid ...
can create family ...
can be relaxed and enjoy continual upgrades to education, work, and life.

~~~~~
Thinking back to Martin Luther ... he saw 'truth' and downsized the complexity of his link to 'god' by cutting out the papal intermediaries ...
as business today does ~ working cleaner and leaner.
A TV docco program on Neanderthals pointed out that 'modern~man' (us) was smarter ... didn't wait for food to come to him/her .. rather followed the seasons, followed harvesting potentials, was there where the 'ripe food, freshwater food, hunting food' action was!
Learnt to store and cure food
Understood the concept of 'store', of 'Pantry'.
A question to be asked by Arab Youth is 'what's been going wrong over past years' ?
Youth don't like to see themselves as hanging out with Neandathals (good as they were), rather youth want to be up there, in the know, making trend waves, carving a pathway to their future, putting the pieces of career potentials under their belt, wanting to be functional, wanting to gain varied experiences, wanting to test out - what do they like, what do they want to do, where's some testing-adventure that stretches them physically and mentally and gives them a sense of achievement, want to learn how to work as individuals and in teams, want good leadership models to look-up to, want to have a sense of progress being made!
Always a good thing to take a comparative look at what other countries are doing. The Scandinavian countries are amazing.
Denmark for example are really looking after their people ... a person in need of guidance re gym and diet gets a personal trainer for free to help them shape-up!
An example of a Nation State using initative and being proactive .... the pay-off being a healthier population and lower medical costs ... it's an appreciation and understanding of 'swings and roundabouts' in the real run of things that can give people the lift and encouragement they need to make them feel welcome | feel they have a place, in their cultural world.
