    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

well, almarst

In fairness and upon reflection, the "propaganda" was not the right term to use. So I accept your rebuke on that. And your point about nuclear blackmail and spoiler role the current US administration plays againt NK is not justifiable except that NK does proliferate a lot. Now interestingly, most hawkish members of Bush group against NK happen to be jewish americans. maybe that is where the real issue lies. NK better get back in the right side of teh global struggle if it wants the sanctions taken off. The question is how it will go about doing so.

DIRTY HARRY

It's fifty years since atomic dust settled on the land interiors of the USA, Australia, and the then USSR.

The radioactivity is 'still' in the dust of desert.

Storms blow the dust into modern population areas.

WHY DIDN'T people forsee the pollution?????

Weapons with radioactive aspects are still in use today - were there a WORLD government with WORLD laws, then there ought to be a $$$prohibition$$$ on the use of this everlasting pollution!

Btw, almarst

I doubt 7th fleet will be much useful when the real war breaks out between NK and US. War, like life, is like a box of chocolates. You just never knwo what you're gonna get.

"Quae cum ita sunt" Caesar's Gallic Commentaries

During the 90s Iraqi children were dying because Saddam chose to build palaces and placate his synchophants with amusement parks and perks of power, (or he killed them). Meanwhile he built on palace compound that is the size of the District of Colombia!!!! How many children's blood was used to "wet" the concrete of these pleasure domes?

Japan and China don't desire a nuclear confrontation between the US and North Korea for one, and only one reason. The collateral effects of demolishing North Korea would have to be absorbed by them. A Trident sub carries 24 MIRVed missiles with 240 separate warheads. Ten missiles would do the job and North Korea is gone. I don't desire that for the Korean Children, why do the leaders of North Korea?

There is evil in the world and it isn't the United States! Only ignorance and arrogance blinds those who espouse this theory! ... and Merry Christmas to y'all.

mazza....you and your family will be gone for good too....and why woudl anyone desire that for you and your beloved ones

only ignorance and arrogance blinds those who espouse such theory. I seriously doubt NKs would count on your humanity to look out for their future viability....:-)

manjumicha - 10:55pm Dec 11, 2002 EST (# 6539 of 6542)

Last time I checked, it doesn't take more than 20 H-nukes to pacify mazzas of this world....so why would NK need to match 240 warheads. You are quite dim, aren't you?

Adios amigos
