    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

"...We seem to be approaching times when we have to do that (connect dots) , and the leaders of Islam are going to have to do it, too..."

It seems to me that the thing that responsible leaders of Islam need to face is that the jihadist branch of their faith is trying to convert Islam into a religion of human blood sacrefice.

It won't be the first time in history that "human sacrefice" religions have existed. I belive that the same evil is behind them all.

It is believed that in the past human sacrefices were made to appease gods, to assure continued favor from the gods for all those not sacreficed. No doubt the ancient "sacrefices" were promised wonderful rewards in the afterlife for spilling their blood for the betterment of all. Does that sound familiar?

Apparently those folks, willingly or not, spilled their blood and it had no effect on the condition of the rest. So far as I know all of those cultures have disappeared for one reason or another.

In my view, the greatest threat to Isalm today is that it will embrace the concept of human blood sacrefice as part of its doctrine. If it does so, it will bring about its own demise; not as the result of negative public opinion or political disfavor or any other human opinion; but by the hand God himself.

FredMore says

Increase the entropy in our environment and the dots WILL connect themselves.

Apply this to a

democratic system -- the 'dots' turn up at the polling station and vote
religious system -- the 'dots' have improved education and understanding of both relious-truth and economic-truths
gutWave feeling -- the 'dots' demand national leaders stay 'on course' wrt public interest, needs and futures

Communication - connecting the dogs

Wolf pups selected thousands of years ago (Asia-China) are the ancestors of today's dogs.
Cambridge report noted American-Swedish tests had shown communication skills in live pups were higher than those of chimps .... a finger pointed to 'hidden' food - enabled pup to find the food ... this ability is innate. http://abc.net.au/newsradio/

Jihad - The word Jihad means striving.

In its primary sense it is an inner thing, within self, to rid it from debased actions or inclinations, and exercise constancy and perseverance in achieving a higher moral standard. .....
