    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

Interesting how all the nations of the world are being encouraged to play 'catch-up' with the USA re weapons expenditure.

Security begins and ends with 'the mind'.

If Nations live under good systems of governance then the need to contemplate 'blowing others to smithereens' is greatly lessened.

Remember too that Papa Bush is head of Carlye .. lives as a salesman ... gathers rich commissions no doubt ...

The personal vision of all military-business-marketeers is to maximise their own incomes .... war's a means of doing this!

One is forever amazed at the failure of the 'run of the mill' posters here to appreciate the need for acculturation - even manners......

Well...well...wellllll!!! Did you finally take a look in a mirror?!?!?

What about YOUR manners (not to mention Rshow's)??? You arrogantly refer to others as "The Poster" or some villain from your troubled nightmares. Personally, I can handle THAT! But how do you think you look to newcomers to this Forum who want to discuss Missile Defense and all they're treated to by you and Rshow is a motley parade of irrelevant links, misspelled gabblings, and soap box demagogery.

You're always accusing your detractors of being HIGH mucky-mucks on the Conspiracy Ladder...but one has to ask how YOU AND RSHOW manage to constantly get away with being OFF-TOPIC......unless of course you both have an "inside track"......HMMMMMM?!?!?
