    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

rshow,

don't need to "look" you did the exact same thing to me over a year ago, instead of looking at the merits or debate of what is being said you get into this whole wacked out conspiracy view of trying to figure out who exactly is saying it.. Quite stupid, because then after making this judgement you attempt to spend the rest of your days trying to prove to yourself and others that your assertions are valid.. Your a moron.

Such a lot of motivation to discredit me!

It would be easy to check.

If leaders of nation states - looking at their reponsibilities -- asked for the truth - a lot of things could be cleaned up.

Views exist in our world that suggest that leaders only take cues from the system they exist in.That is why all nations have spies;0

Lots of "views exist in our world" - - but with the internet, and new lines of communication - a lot of things can be checked - in a lot of ways - - that were impossible before.

The United States military, admirable in many ways, is corrupt in very many others - and trillion dollar mistakes have been made.

Mistakes so big that they justify the pay of "the poster."

Leaders of other nation states have a stake - for decency and safety, in getting some things checked.

If they asked - - the checking could happen - and tens of thousands, or even millions or tens of millions of lives might be saved.

The checking would be entertaining, as well.

Out.

Sad that foreign policy on internet forums is only discussed by sick and those of weak reality grasps..

Rshow ...

That's a big fish you've caught there. Got some fight in him too!

In #6052 I said "Iraq was the cradle of civilisation ... a delicate thing ... only a monster like Saddam is capable of protecting. I think it is incumbent on the rest of the world to understand Saddam has value and if appropriate end the tension by neutralising border threats to a country which has great human potential."

lchic in #6056 disputed this. I'd like to get your comments.

Cheers

Not sicker it seems than bloody "leaders" - those who actually design a foreign policy in a real world.
