    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

The role of a 'government' and a 'leader' or 'president' or 'monarch' is to work for ALL the people not just their immediate followers.

When Human Rights Abuses occur - then - it could be argued that International law should be sufficiently 'strong' and 'appropriate' to work for the 'weaker' sectors of a Nation State ... and go in to protect them.

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for on this thread.

almarst2002 11/20/02 8:53pm - - the Iraq situation is a clear deal - - let's get past that - and the way will be open to a much clearer and more powerful international law - that has a much better chance of adressing your (valid) concerns.

If worlds leaders asked for checking - a lot could be sorted out.

Enough questions are being asked that international law - which has not been clear enough - is getting renegotiated and solidified in the process.

Were Dr Phil (A personable American TV Psych) to look into the heads of Hussien and Mulgabue ....

.... and worked down an comparative checklist

how similar are these two failed leaders

What is their endgame

Why do they idolise 'failure'

What logic do they employ to discount major sections of their National population

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where their a 'School' to educate and train national leaders ...
What do they ALL need to know ?
lunarchick - 09:07pm Nov 20, 2002 EST (# 6025 of 6029)
In a sense they ALL need to know that the people want the usual peace and happiness with opportunites to excel .... and improving opportunites and national wealth for upcoming generations.
The national leader has to assist in the delivery of such goals.
There has to be a checklist of how to 'manage' a nation to enable it to 'deliver'!
lunarchick - 09:14pm Nov 20, 2002 EST (# 6026 of 6029)
Iraq can be seen to be 'failing' to meet the needs of its population - ( as is Iran and Zimbabwe ).
If Saddam had concern for the population - for them to achieve and excel ... then, removal of weapons to enable the economy of the country to perform .. should be no obstacle.
[Back to the USA having a itemised list of 'spending' by all citizens ... it doesn't exactly work ... (1) bater can occur ... (2)the goods can have multi-purpose uses (3) the id cards are fake ... and the 'person' doesn't exist!]
When Iraq has complied then they can look for investment capital and 'move on' ... grow and develop.
