Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Lchic, you and Robert seem to mostly want to infect others with your paranoia. You seem to want to make people think they're being lied to even when they're not.

No doubt you feel that somehow serves your master's agenda.

However, if your efforts along those lines seem frustrating at times, well, it should be frustrating for you. Sane people don't easily fall into that abyss...because sane people have a sense of reality and of truth. Few such will believe a lie when the truth is already in front of them. That's because they can tell the difference.

Well, if aliens do arrive, hostile or not, no doubt Robert and lchic will be able to direct them in the proper way to organize the world. :-)

Of course, if the aliens' only preview of earth culture were this forum they'd probably not bother to stop here at all because they'd think there was little intelligent life on this planet.

Of course Robert would love that because he'd feel that he'd personally saved the world. Take heart Robert! Maybe that's why aliens haven't landed here yet! Maybe you're a hero after all!

On economies

Using hoops of different sizes to represent factors within economies they might represent

1 - mining and agriculture
2 - processing and manufacturing
3 - tertiary activites
4 - services
5 - IT based functioning
6 - the leisure economy
7 - cultural actiivty
8 - aid and assistance (internally and externally)

Measure can be volumes or values.

Different patterns will represent an emphasis of an economy.

The challenge for the underdeveloped world is to get their hoops up and spinning and interacting with other nations.

The spin-off for the more developed world is that at each stage they represent a 'customer' ... as the economy become more complex, so does the upward demand pull for enabling knowledge, skills and equipment that assists growth.

Commerce is a win-win situation .... sounds better than fight-fight__death-death__war-war doesn't it!

Sure does. That's why the communist world with its planned economies has collapsed and the world of free trade has flourished. Free economies can adapt quickly to reality...planned economies are encumbered by the massive inertia of bureaucracy...they're not so agile.

When the harnessing of the power of people via the repression of their economic and personal freedom is a thing of the past, that's when wars will stop.

So long as there are evil men who are willing to exploit the ignorant or helpless to magnify their own personal power, wars will continue.

Osama Ben Laden is one such man who's abroad in the world today. Saddam Hussein is another. Bloody men, both.

Showalter has concerns re

the Aliens within the American system.
he 'shadow'.
The Nazi propaganda and philosophy.

Looking at this board, Showalter has seen problems that are faced by his nation and other nations.

His work here on an international level might be compared to 'Dr Phil' on the domestic front. After three decades of folks passing through his office, Dr Phil has excellent frameworks and methodologies to be used to get people through, out the otherside of a situation and able to move on with functionality.

Showalter has had three decades for world problem consideration.

Showalter is developing and offering the necessary methodologies and tools people require (internationally) to take them through crisis situations, to come out the other side peacefully and move the world along with as 'little loss of life' as possible.

He has concern that the current US administration is failing to demonstrate that if has empathy for people as individuals (not numbers to slay).

Thus the work on the board is a contribution to the process of moving the world along from a violent one to an improved and happier model.

Two years ago Showalter moved to the MD board ... a while later i followed and assist that work.

Showalter has one America's most progressive minds, and should be acknowledged and valued.
