Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Can we do a better job of finding truth? YES. Click
"rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have done and worked for
on this thread.
By some very clear and reasonable definitions, Bill Casey
was a war criminal. Casey knew that very well. And he felt
he was doing the best he could - under the circumstances as
they were.
I suspect that Kissenger felt the same.
Sometimes, I think, Casey was very wrong about that.
Kissinger, too. But not always.
Was Casey a "war criminal"? You can say so.
But there was a lot more to it than that.
We're in a situation now where we can do better.
To do so, we have to face some facts about the past,
about ourselves - and about human limitations.
It is dangerous for us not to do that. "Simple" answers,
after a point - have to be judged by consequences - -
and a time comes where consequences have to be weighed - and
explained.
In such circumstances, quite often, truth is our only hope.
There are things that the United States, as a practical
matter, cannot sort out without pressure, and questions
- from other nations.
Maybe that's happening.

I'm an American tired of American lies - http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,3604,813189,00.html
"I got a few moments alone with Clinton. Saddam throwing
out the weapons inspectors was all over the news and I asked
what he was going to do. His answer was very revealing. He
said: "Everybody is telling me to bomb him. All the military
are saying, 'You gotta bomb him.' But if even one innocent
person died, I couldn't bear it." And I looked in his eyes and
I believed him. Little did I know he was blocking
humanitarian aid at the time, allowing the deaths of thousands
of innocent people."
"I am a father, and no amount of propaganda can convince
me that half a million dead children is acceptable "collateral
damage".
"A decade later, Shrub follows the same line: "We have
no quarrel with the Iraqi people." I'm sure half a million
Iraqi parents are scratching their heads over that."
I'm an American tired of lies. And with our government,
it's mostly lies.

When I see Rumsfeld foaming in his mouth taking about NKs
and their nukes, I can't help but thinking.....Gee, we have
another fanatic running a country with 10,000 nukes...and I am
not referring to Bush Jr. in case the few dim brains on this
forum miss my point. And the way he was spinning the story was
like hearing a silent scream of one mad man....."we cornered
...they CONFESSED !" Like as if a junior state depart.
functionary was interrogating NK leadership in a local police
station.....:-)
His contorted faces and foaming mouth said a lot more than
his lying lips ever could.

I have noted for the past few years that the most hawkish
elements of US political leadership have been jewish americans
(i.e. William Kristol, Richard Pearle, Rumsfeld, Wolforwitz,
etc) I wonder if NK cooperation with Israel's enemies have
caused them to push for distored US foreign policy regarding
NK and China. That would also include William Safire of this
news paper whose raw hatred of China and NK is "legendary".
Maybe someone jewish can enlighten me on this connection?
