Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Why does ONE WOMAN become a WORLD HEADLINE ?
Because Civilized Countries have a soft spot for women, as
opposed to the barbaric and draconian moslems???
This isn't the first case, as you well know, of a woman
symbolizing the abject horror of life in places like Burma
(aka Myanmar), or the Woman hidden behind the burqaa veil, or
the woman in Pakistan raped because she walked down the street
with the "wrong man", etc......
Short of napalming the local dictators, the only solution I
can think of is one which these 3rd, 4th...nth-world pits are
vulnerable to...and that is SHAME. Rotten countries like to
present a facade of reasonableness in diplomatic circles. In
any official contacts, these places must be treated with
contempt and covered intensely by the media.

Nanobes in blood - Finish Guy - sees them as the cause of
kidney stones, arthritus, certain heart conditions

The Finish Guy had his papers rejected (also had to defend
himself re being called a fraud - he did - but it took him out

The USA tries but doesn't always succeed. The Peace Corp,
the foreign aid, the acceptance of foreign students in our
school systems are just some of the ways that we do try. A
fellow Toastmaster and Church member is a retired kindergarten
teacher. She belongs to our State Department's "Peope to
People" program. She travels the world and offers an extended
hand to those in need. Our club helped her to polish a fund
raising speech which she has presented around our synod. She
fashioned this speech after a trip to Sierra Leone with our
Bishop. I am proud of her efforts because she is raising money
to rebuild the churchs in Sierra Leone and help the people
establish a society and economy again after 10 + years of
civil war.
What have you done to help your fellow man? Talk is cheap!
Mouthing off at this forum isn't enough! Explain what your
country is doing, if anything. I'd like to hear it.
