Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Maybe we're being too hard on Mazza . . . maybe he's a
lot better person than we think - - and better, in some ways,
than we can think - - looking at his postings here. Maybe he
had a mother who loved him. Maybe for reasons a person could
sympathize with. Who knows?
Just the point. I was drawn to this forum by the premise
stated regarding Missile Defense. I did not care about your
personal foibles. I didn't join to have words with lchic who
needs a tutorial in Emily Post polite behavior. Mind you I've
asked on several occassions that she refrain from the nasty
manner in which she spells my name since that is meant to
infuriate me and she has succeeded. Frankly, I would rather
converse and pursue the issue at hand.
As long as lchic pushes emotional buttons you have the
perfect example of why the open, truthful discourse that you
propose is not going to occur.
Furthermore, name calling and conspiratorial innuendos
regarding the Bush Family and Nazism is hogwash. President
Bush 41 was a World War II fighter pilot. With all the "pull"
his family possessed, why is it that he fought and nearly died
for his country? I don't come here to argue politics. I
suppose that you believe that you have all the solutions to
the problems that confront us as a civilization. Again, this
is not the place for that. Write a book, run for office, or
become a TV pundit.

Greenspan - economist
takes top spot in Economist
World stockmarkets remain volatile in spite of attempts by
the Federal Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan, to restore calm
by sounding an optimistic note about America's economic
prospects.

I spell your name mAzzA - as you do!
Why should that infuriate you - it doesn't.
But again we are detracting from the main issue - the
Enslavement of the American People
Their repression
over the past six decades
by the SHADOW government
(presumably now employing mAzzA, hence the nAzzA-mAzzA
comment)
If there wasn't repression via the right wing Shadow then
there would be a more OPEN discussion in the USA on matters
that count
The EnronClimate is bring people out - the reason - the
Greedy - including Bush and Cheney - have eaten away the
fatted calves folks thought they had for their future security
- from the inside!
The Brian Wynne GUT REACTION is starting to happen - the
HIP POCKET NERVE of the people has been hit and hit hard!

Mazza, you seem very upset that I associate the Bush family
with the Nazis. Could I have touched a nerve with your
employer?
A nerve that ought to be touched.
The issue is very much worth discussing. And
patterns of intimidation, as well. Missile Defense is now, and
long has been, a technical fraud. You can't point to a single
example of a technical point I've made about Missile Defense
(or that Postol's made) where we've been wrong -- but you can
- - using techniques of dishonest controversy - keep things
out of focus.
But it does seem to me that people, both internationally,
and in the United States, are getting to be more
willing to consider things that have actually happened.
And yes, the association between the Bushes and the Nazis
is very strong, and of long standing. As for deflecting
everything because GBush Sr happened to serve in WWII-- a lot
of SS soldiers died for their country, too - including many
who were real monsters.

Let me see if I understand mAzzA = Mazza. Robert, You're
the mathematician. Are they the same? "Why should that
infuriate you?" I was brought up by an Italian Grandmother who
wielded a mean wooden spoon and demanded polite, proper
behavior. She believed that one of the worse things you could
do is "name call". I've had people mispronounce my last name
as "Mazda". I remind them ONE TIME, "Excuse me but my name is
Mah zah. When they continue their rudeness I ignore them.
This little lesson in politics and diplomatic behavior is
not new. It appears that the current era eschews politeness
and you see it in bellicose driving habits, slanderous
statements by our politicians and Big B bellicose statements
by the Saddam's of this world.
BTW I am currently unemployed and have never been in the
employ of the Bush family in any manner. Of course, that is
not the issue. As in "Miss Congeniality" the issue is "World
Peace"
