    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Another series of poster IDle speculations…….. Self-contradictory as usual. Entertaining, as usual !

Bluestar , my first guesses were that Jorian did indeed have some connection with the NYT - but he's said he doesn't - and there are some good reasons to respect that - though social deception is not unknown. But Jorian is a savvy guy - with a lot of punch in his postings - and I think it is worth glancing at some Joran-s postings - before March 1, 2002 - just to show how savvy and plugged in the guy is.

The thread as a memory model - and jorian_s on 3rd class mail delivery by bomber.

Jorian-s has posts in …..- and those posts are close in time to some posts that have a good deal to do with problems I had with a "Roland Cook" - who I thought - perhaps incorrectly - was associated with the NYT - who engaged me for months in a "debriefing for the CIA" that was extremely awkward for me - and perhaps for him, as well. ……..and his questions took so much of my time that I eventually asked for some help from a U. of Wisconsin Dean.

I thought the comment from Kalter_rauch interesting. I wonder if anyone knew rauch - and found the matter interesting, too.

My guess is that Joran noticed these posts - but it is just a guess. If NYT people did (and of course, I can't be sure) - it seems to me to cast some extenuating light on the situation - maybe, considering everything, from everybody's point of view.

Here are some things from Roland Cook - who posted on 74 htmls I've saved from the old Consciousness and Black Holes forums.

I'm trying to set things out that could move things toward a stable closure. Looks possible to me.

What “stable closure” ? May be , closure of a “stable” ?

rshow55 - 05:40pm Oct 25, 2003 EST (# 15629 of 15637)

If Cook and Cooper are the same person - that would be interesting. There might be a tactful way to find out . . . it would fit some things, in spots, but I'm not saying that WRCook and WRCooper are the same person. It might account for strong feelings that I've not been able to understand.

But then, you never know.

Till the next time you float this and other He-filled balloons !

The earth spin rate is slowing 2 msc/day as evidenced by the additon of a leap second every 500 days - James "I failed math" Nienhuis

Forgot about gisterme...

I bet he's GWB and works for NYT.

Write a book, Robert. You'll do better than chasing NYT.

You think the UCS is biassed and unreliable?

Okay, what are your sources for the opposing point of view? If you think they're more objective, fair-minded and dependable than the UCS, please explain why.
