Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

To work together, especially in a joint intellectual

truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have
done and worked for on this thread.
Maybe this thread is just a prototype - with (very good)
stand-ins -but judging from the degree attack when I've asked
who gisterme is - and the significant efforts of

some able people may in fact be paying attention.
There are some essentially simple, but large scale patterns
that need a careful look.

I can only do so much "under fire".
Logical constructs that are as useful as they happen to be.
Some f = ma for example - are enormously useful.
And both "simple and small" and "huge" - depending on
perspective.
Work on this thread is going on to come up with other
logical constructs - well worth the trouble. Some commercial.
Some of the most important too large to be commercial.
My guess , notwithstanding Jorian's advice - is that
a good many people beyond me and lchic care about this
thread.
Reading http://www.mrshowalter.net/jorian319_Mar20_May26_2003_WrittenOut.htm
gives reason to suspect that some of those people may have
managerial responsibilities.
Now if people with managerial responsibilities could learn
a few things . . . who knows what might happen?
