Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

"...it seems so many americans were simply 'out to
lunch' on that day -- ..."
Americans have that right.
"...and/or had their franchaise to vote withdrawn
eliminating them a say in their democratic representation
..."
That sounds like grounds for a congressional investigation.
Better put up the evidence.
"... in the land of 'Liberty' and 'Freedom' ... why do
so many have to endure 'internal exile'!?..."
What do you mean by "internal exile" lchic? Do you
mean the condition of people who don't register to vote or
make it to the polls before they close? They aren't
disenfranchised. They've forfeited their right to vote by
not doing thier part. Perhaps you mean convicted
felons...they lose their right to vote under certain
conditions.
Are those the disinfranchised who you say are also
enduring "internal exile". Or is this disinfranchisement and
"internal exile" the same thing to you? Oh my. How
complicated!
Hmm. Maybe you mean "inability to get a passport" when you
say "internal exile"? There are lots of good reasons why the
immigration service might not grant certain persons passports.
Note that the keyword there is "grant". A passport, like a
driver's license, is a privilege not a right.
'Just trying to figure out what in the world you're talking
about lchic. If it ever gets clear in your mind, you'll
undoubtedly clue us in on its relevance to missile defense.

Plink, plink, plink, plink, plink....plink,
plink, plink... (The sound of the pesky woodpecker looking
for bugs in the steel fence post). :-)
No quite. Try dismemberment !

much success with Rshow either but at least I can claim that
my INTENT is positive, scientifically and philosophically
contributary to MD and maybe even a little enertaining..."
gisterme: A worthy cause and a good
assesment.
Wow. One “regular” scratching another “regular’s” back !

Some of us have been trying to discover that
for 2+ years in case you haven't noticed, cantabb. As I said
before, just jump onto the bandwagon. If you must be nasty
to feel better then do. If the NYT will tolerate what was
here before you came then maybe they'll tolerate you're
"contribution" to the forum as well. Or not.
Ah, that raw nerve of yours again. The ‘bandwagon’
and ‘not been here long’ defense. As I told you, what I saw
was : ‘regulars’ engaged in nonsensical detours and off-topic
debates. And, the only bandwagon I saw was with you and other
regulars in it, taken out for long ‘rides’.
The raw nerve and your proud ‘sense of accomplishment’
doesn’t let you what actually had happened. To refresh your
memory, go check the thread.

Can't say I disagree with cantabb if he
feels the same way.
Now, welcome to THIS bandwagon. A rare display of backbone
!

["...How obsessive ! ..."] Naa, cantabb,
just showing how tired he was. Imagine what he could have
done if full of spunk.
And you, a regular here for long, know better ?

Cantabb asks rwhow:
The thought that came to mind when I read
that was "How long till hell freezes over?" :-)
And, as usual, you turned over and slept some more. And
woke up, and carped some more.

cantabb to Fred : "...Nothing new!..."
Sheesh! Do I hear the pot calling the kettle
black? You haven't said anything new since the first day you
posted, cantabb.
I hear the same ole’ from pea-nut gallery !
Is that why I hear ‘ouches’ from all these raw nerves –
rawest probably yours ? Wake up and smell the real coffee.
If you haven’t checked the Forum, I suggest you do it and
take your ‘halo’ for a re-fit ! You've been wearing it too
"long."
