Science
Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

truth? YES. Click "rshow55" for some things Lchic and I have
done and worked for on this thread.

Polynomial processing is a way of
"connecting the dots" - - I put out the key result - in as
close to the form Casey suggested as I could, it seemed to
me - in the early 1990's. http://www.mrshowalter.net/pap2/
and in my judgement, the work I was assigned to do - and did
do - could be of material assistance in defending the US.
But I'd have to be talked to - with enough flexibility that
people could actually use my stuff. Some of the insights
have to be taught - not just "presented" as bad math
professors often "present things" - leaving the people who
are supposed to learn the material baffled.
People who call me "crazy" - and say my story was
constructed recently - just to make a story-line for this
thread might look at the discussion of code issues in http://www.mrshowalter.net/pap2/
- there is quite a lot of other material - more than 12 years
old now - that I wrote involving codes http://forums.nytimes.com/webin/WebX?8@13.f8qTbXRILaq.0@.f28e622/16114
.
This thread has largely been about a subject Almarst
and Lchic and I have discussed frequently.
"News and the Culture of Lying"
A nice search topic. If the NYT doesn't ever have an
obligation to get to the truth - what is the paper selling?
