Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Rise above it. Apply a little grace if you
have it in you.
gisterme, you've been a fair model of graciousness
around here, and look what it got you. You're Bush, in the
mind of one of the most prolix posters I've ever seen. You
even have your own webpage! I say, show as little class as
possible around here, lest ye be taken for Someone!

Thanks. As for the advice, you're probably right; but it
would seem it's already too late. I think that horse is
already a-wanderin'. :-)
Cantabb hasn't done anything to me, but I
know Fred and you well enough to know that you're not
dummies and not mean or unreasonable men. Even when we've
strongly disagreed about things neither of you has taken to
name-calling or shown the least bit of pettiness. That's way
above school yard behavior in my book.
I've got to think you guys have a long track record with
cantabb when you both and even bb seem to go ballistic
immediately upon his arrival. Something's up.

gisterme: So what? Rise above it. Apply a
little grace if you have it in you.
Once again, I suggest YOU direct THIS to Fredmoore. NOT
me ! OK ?
You forget that, in my responses to him, I have NOT stooped
to that level, despite his provocations right from his first
post to me. You must NOT have read the exchange.
IF you're asking me to keep ignoring unprovoked insults and
school-yard juvenile remarks directed to me, and are the
'advising' me to 'rise above' them, you're badly missing the
point.
NEXT time you're interested in 'mediation', I suggest you
at least first review things carefully, and direct your
comments, if you feel compelled to make them, accordingly.

Once again, do you know who personally attacked whom
first? Totally unprovoked, in response to MY post that WAS not
specifically directed to him ? Fredmoore, and then
bbbuck. BOTH unprovoked, both school yard name-calling !
If you really want to know what's up: Read the exchange.
That's NOT how one resolves 'conflicts', if that's what you
think you were trying to do !
