Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

"...Discourse is only useful and appropriate where both
parties have a proper and deep understanding of the subject at
hand."
Hmmm. Then how does one ever get a deep understanding of a
topic if they don't have it already, fred?

"...and one of them IMO is that missile defense as the
header intends, has been triaged down the heirarchy of
national attention."
Well, it's true that there hasn't been a lot of new news
about MD, especially since 911. The program appears to now be
less open than it was before we went to war. That's no big
surprise to me.
The other thing is that the decision has been made to
proceed at least with the preliminary MD deployment work. I
suppose that practical folks feel that there's not much point
in rushing to close the door once the horse is out of the
barn.

Boys, boys! If we're going to make a serious
effort revive this forum, why not bury the hatchets and try
starting anew?
Fred, you know I respect your opinion, even
when I don't agree with it. Now, I don't know cantabb but
you've obviously butted heads with him before.
cantabb, you must already know that fred is
no air-head. I do and I count him as a friend. I'd like to
think you aren't an air-head either.
So, why don't you guys just try to get
along?
You BETTER address this to Fredmoore alone. He is
the one still in the school-yard.
IF you care to see the sequence of exchange, you'll realize
that it was HE who started this cycle.
I'm NOT going to stoop to his level, but he's going to get
lot more than he can dish out.
I thought he would remember his exchanges with me on
'Science in the News'. But if he doesn't, I wouldn't reminding
him.

Cantabelle,
Welcome to the schoolyard, Having fun. I am.
The school yard is still YOURS ONLY.
Am having fun seeing you there. More than you, probably.
And, I'm hoping to have more.
BTW nice ICBM there (Intercontinental
Ballistic Mimmickry). Yo really should understand and
comprehend the significance of a KAEP in relation to the
defence of the USA and the free world before improperly
judging the entire forum on RShow's performance and by your
own personal, outmoded and inadequate standards.
"by your own personal, outmoded and inadequate standards" :
What ?
You don't EVEN know THAT, do you ? Haven't posted any YET,
other than dealing with juvenilia !
Save the inane for your IDOL !

So what? Rise above it. Apply a little grace if you have it
in you.
