Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?

Lou,
Perhaps the best missile defence of all is a deep and
meaningful educational curriculum where teachers feel a
creative freedom. One that teaches not just things but how to
learn them, without fear of corporate dictatorship. Only
future generations with that kind of education can withstand
the variety and scope of missiles that will always be hurled
at a country which is a leader of nations and which attracts
missiles against it for its good decisions as much as for its
bad ones.
Nulla apologetica!
