    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Read Debates, a new Web-only feature culled from Readers' Opinions, published every Thursday.

""Put your characters in situations almost beyond human endurance. They should have spiritual strength, genuine fear, hopes, longing. Man against nature/man. Their fears and hopes lead you into the story. Is the story plot driven or character driven? Characters lead you into the plot. The writer is like the sea captain who knows the whole of the iceberg but readers only see one tenth. http://home.vicnet.net.au/~swwvic/

Untold stories of those who died during the war on Iraq - http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/memorial/0,13313,952862,00.html

Iraq memorial: We will probably never know how many people died in the Iraq war, let alone much about them. We have spoken to relatives of the deceased of all nationalities, and here we tell their life stories.

Like the humans in the "Matrix" movies, many Americans are caught up in a faux reality that keeps them under control with images and emotions that conceal the truth. The manipulation of public opinion during the Iraq War was a case in point. - http://www.consortiumnews.com/2003/060103a.html

War may be a necessary hell

War is deemed necessary --- to amend confusion

War is a heartbreaker

War is very pretty and very PATRIOTIC as long as its a HIGH-TECH MURDER shown by a HIGH-PAYED media.

Its very PROFITABLE to some as well.
