Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a
nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a
"Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed
considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense
initiatives more successful? Can such an application of
science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable,
necessary or impossible?
That coming from luuneychic.
Give us some 10 posts in a row of luuney slop please.
Well at least I got to see rob-chiphead-boy can get worked
up over some things. Good for you sir. Keep spamming
apparently no admin inspectors have checked here yet.
Has the Bush team found the WMD yet? Why don't we go after
China? They've manhandled millions of people.
are seen as being in advance of the arab world

Reading accounts of 'employed' iraqis who were seemingly
'pleased to be waged' for the purpose of mutilating and
murdering fellow citizens --- what 'standards' of conduct for
individuals does the UN offer?

Well let's go Japanese first.
In your generalisation characterization (GC) ... you were
nowhere nearenough to the truth.
I recall it was also said of the Japanese:
They are all short and have poor vision.
Will not fight at night or in jungles.
would never attack Singapore from Malaya.
Etc etc.
We need to connect the dots more carefully and with greater
scope so we can gain the necessary order, harmony and symmetry
of a fuller understanding.
Of all the dots you missed, the MOST important dot is the
fact that Japan spends over 3% of its GDP on R and D. If
Australia for example, matched this, instead of spending a
paltry .3% GDP it would actually become a CLEVER country
instead of just pontificating about it.
As for Iraq, it is too early to see beyond the media flurry
of absorbtion in ugly negative aspects of the butterfly
emerging from its cocoon. Birth is not a pretty site,
especially under the glare of the entire mass media of the
planet. However, those with a ken for life, like every mother
on the planet and the Tony Blairs of the world, know all too
well the intrinsic beauty in this most necessary part of
growth and development of living things, including the nation
of Iraq.
Do you think a moth will emerge from the desert cocoon? My
money (and more importantly that of the US and UN) is on a
fantastic butterfly. At any rate I expect the next few months
(not years) will reveal the answers we seek.

If I was a country, a country with the foot of a tryant on
the throat of my people, divided by creeds and classes, a
country of wealth where most people were poor... if I was such
a country, I would hope and pray that the US would invade my
ass.

R&D is important Fred.
So too engineers --- were every country to double their
number the world would move forward smoother and faster.
