    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

"...I'll be back tomorrow on "what would umpires do"..."

Great. That should be interesting. Be sure to include how umpires will cope with the subjective environment.

Also, please don't forget the other question I asked you...show the referenece material to back up your statement that lasers aren't good enough for the ABL...have you forgotten already?...I gave you the benefit of the doubt about your claim...awaiting the response to the kind of reasonable request an umpire might make???

That's the link, just in case you forgot...

"...Seems to me that getting right answers is in the national interest - - and I wonder why some other people don't think so. . . ."

What other people, Robert? Based on stuff you've said on this thread I'd estimate you wouldn't know a right answer if it crawled into bed with you. That's because you have a world-view that's totally unrealistic...a world view that based entirely on emotional idealism...and you won't accept any answer that doesn't fit your world view. So long as your world-view doesn't fit the world, you'll never be satisfied that any real-world answer is right.

Tosh mAzzA - if you look back on this board it was i who looked up and found 78 Lou mAzzAs .. but NO real YOU! Now whether any Lou's in that 78 were Luigi's i wouldn't know.

GI: on truth my note was that after Showalter exited the board was busy with GI&Mazza + imaginary friends in conversation.

Real posters can post here anytime .. there are invitations for folks to read and/or post offerred ... it's compelling reading ... like 'war and peace' ...

Let's go back to the matter - it's take the Nukes down - simple - so why not?

The standard post is often "Take 'em down" .. most people can't understand why a simple matter is turned into a complex one.

GI: In general - UK and EU diplomats have concerns that USA is acting like a 'bull-in-a-china' and are not wanting to play 'Patsy' (one presumes a dumb partner who just does as told) to the US.

The art of diplomacy is an art/science/skill it's good negotiation, it can lead to all involved in the discussions coming away with good results.

I'm baffled. Show me a link...

A link? A forum post number...anything?

That was pretty much the position that Minister Vedrine took, remember your earlier article post and this response:

I still feel the same way. If they think we're being overbearing, well, then that's just too bad. We've got to do what it takes to make sure that the treat of repeats of September 11 is removed from the world. If the rest of the sane world doesn't want to help, then shame on them. It's for their own good too.

As I said before, it's sad that that attitude may not change until such a disaster as 9/11 occurs in Europe proper. I hope it doesn't have to. I hope a stop can be put to this kind of awful stuff before that happens.

"...why not take a break you're befuddled!"

I am? Befuddled about what, lchic?

lchic - 01:41am Feb 11, 2002 EST (#11476 of 11481)

befuddled is muddled
and mud muddies puddles
makes mirror unclear
reflection is grounded
you asked dumfounded
too much night?
too much wine?
so that's how it sounded
befuddled each line
