    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

$8 400 000 is cost of fittments to 4200 pinpoint bombs

$8 900 is cost per fitment to cluster bomb

"The B-52's take off, and they don't know what their targets are going to be until they arrive," said Gen. John P. Jumper, the Air Force chief of staff. "We are inventing these tactics more or less in the course of battle so we get this job done." (see above)

Perhaps they're inventing the tactics for a different reason.

You are a dumb stupid moron that should have your keyboard privileges taken away from you.

"The idea for the JDAM was born during the gulf war, where the most advanced precision munitions of the day, laser-guided bombs, could be thrown off target by clouds or dust storms that deflect the laser beams."

Did it ever cross that little pea brain mind of yours that because of the high tech bombs we kicked the third largest army back into the stone age in less then 3 months! Did it ever cross your pea brain mind that using cluster bombs to do this job would have stretched the war to 2 to 3 years! Did it every cross that little moronic brain of yours we lost very little lives in that war and if we did not have JDAM and other smart bombs we would have lost thousands and thousands of lives! Has it ever crossed your mind that you can't put a dollar figure on a human life and the less life's that are lost the better?

I guess not... the only thing that crosses your pea brain mind is "Bush bad Republican bad... Clinton good Democrat good"! Why don't you try looking at the big picture you pea brain moron... I guess that would be too hard for a liberal!

BTW- Just how many JDAMS were used in the Gulf and in Afghanistan and just how many failed in the manor you spoke about? I know the answer but you should go look it up and post it. My bet is you will not because if you do you will have to eat your words!

"I had truly wonderful teachers in my math and engineering education. All good math and engineering involves certain aesthetics: the proof of a theorem may be simply beautiful, a design might be ingenious. So in my mind, math, engineering, and art are very much of a kind.
"The engineering student learns how difficult it is to actually build something that works, how to isolate and work around problems, to improvise, test and debug as necessary. All essential skills for a sculptor." see

There were ZERO failures caused by "could be thrown off target by clouds or dust storms that deflect the laser beam" ZERO! ZERO!

"could" does not mean it happened!

In the Gulf war 2239 JDAMS (Go find the link yourself... it is out there!) were used of which 19 JDAMS FAILED! It is not known just how many JDAMS have been used in the new war but if the stats of the Gulf war hold turn the FAILURE rate of JDAMS will be below 20.

So what is your point you pea brain! Get off on the keyboard you bubble headed beach blonde!

Quit bashing Bush and go bash your head! If you don't agree with the "New War" then go to some other country that believes as you! I wounder if you are related to rat boy John Walker?

This is just the kind of stuff that you liberals are perpetuating in America!

It is sad to see Americans dipping down to this level but I guess this is what the Liberals wanted (a communist government). The below link depicts the exact kind of things that happen in tyrannical, oppressive and communist governments. For example in Cuba one can not say "Felices Pascuas" (marry xmas). If a person were to utter those words they will find themselves in jail and a weeks worth of food can be withheld from their family! Sounds ridiculous.... read the below link!

I have been to Cuba during the holidays and I can tell you it is sad! People can't express themselves in a public forum without jail time... sounds familiar in some American cities now! But what about the Jewish faith and Kwanza? Those are freely worshipped in the public forums without restriction!

Typical LIBERAL double standards!
