    Missile Defense

Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars" defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an application of science be successful? Is a militarized space inevitable, necessary or impossible?

Mayorrude and Terr5c,

This was posted a few threads back by wbtake1. Looks like things are not looking so good for: "Once the dems recapture the house and senate in 2002" or even the White house in 2004... so says your own party!

"Americans trust Republicans and President Bush more than Democrats on the nation's main concerns: safeguarding the nation, fighting terrorism and improving the economy. So says a new poll conducted by Democrats.

Americans also favored Republicans on issues including values, fiscal discipline, crime and welfare reform, concluded a nationwide survey of registered voters for Democratic Leadership Council conducted by Bill Clinton's former pollster Mark Penn.

He said the findings bode "very ill for Democrats in 2004," the Washington Times reported today.

Much stronger public support for the Republicans on what DLC calls "toughness-to-govern issues" places the Democrats in peril for the next presidential election, Penn said.

"There has been a major shift in the issues facing the country and the Democratic Party from a previous emphasis on education and health care to a new emphasis on fighting terrorism, keeping America safe and strengthening the economy," he said."

Gee, according to last week's Gallup Poll, 49% of likely voters feels Bush's economic stimulus package is garbage. So much for the Washington's Time's credibility!

Can't you read?

"So says a new poll conducted by Democrats. " "conducted by Bill Clinton's former pollster Mark Penn. "

The poll was taken by the DNC and DLC i.e.. your own party! The Washington's Time's reported the poll along with a few hundred other media outlets. I read the story on the BBC USA page.

If the New York Times didn't report it, it's a bogus poll. It's that simple!

So I guess you are saying the the DNC and the DLC is bogus! You said it better then I could!

BTW- The NYtimes does not report everything going on in the world son. If the NYtimes is your only source then you are a real dumb human! Haven't you ever heard of getting a second opinion! I guess not!

The recent Gallup Poll says you and the bogus poll are way behind the times. Do try and catch up!

Mr. Musharraf, if you read this - PLEASE HOLD ON.

Your government is the only thing that stands between Bin Laden and nuclear weapons.

As for the missile defense program - we really should look at a program that is more cost-effective.

Clinton proposed a land-based missile defense program a while back. It would not cripple the economy, and could be finished a lot sooner than the old Reagan plan.

Also, the Bush plan seems designed much in the same way as his energy plan:

... designed to make Rumsfield's cronies in the military-industrial complex FILTHY RICH over American tax dollars!!!

Colin Powell is right - there should be another "treaty" - even if it says something neutral and meaningless, like

"USA and Russia will try to get along, and try not to start any wars. We promise."

Signed,

George Walker Bush...... Vladimir Putin

It is the polite thing to do. Does Bush have the social grace to realize this?

Another Enron?
