Technology has always found its greatest consumer in a nation's
war and defense efforts. Since the last attempts at a "Star Wars"
defense system, has technology changed considerably enough to make
the latest Missile Defense initiatives more successful? Can such an
application of science be successful? Is a militarized space
inevitable, necessary or impossible?

While american war de-jour is less predictable then the New
England weather, changing overnight from the "humanitarian" bombing
in a name of "defending the human rights" to "nation building"
bombing in a great "patriotic" war against terrorism, the following
remains constant:
The shameful and criminal double standard policy of terrorism
against civilian populations of other nations in defence of US
interests as defined at that moment by the American "wealth-ocracy",
its military-industrial establishement, Washington Cold-War
missioneric political establishement and "free and democratic" media
establishement.
As long as that behavier of the mentally underdeveloped overgrown
teenager bully superpower will persist, no missile defence will
prevent the other nations to seek a legitimate and affordable means
to stay independent and safe, making the agression too costly. And
that means - assimetric response.
The shameful, criminal and ultimatly foolish and
counterproductive bombing of Afganistan will only reinforce such
determination.

It's 225 years since a group to true freedom fighters came
together to establish a New World Order. No longer would the
strength or guile of an ancestor be the primary mitigating factor
for leadership.
The divine right of Kings was replaced with democracy, (rule of
the people), functioning in a republican form of government. Our
hard work and good fortune built the economy, political and social
system that we enjoy. Have we made mistakes? You bet. We accept the
fact that we are imperfect beings. What system has grown to rival
ours? None? Why? The successful countries of the world have emulated
our system, even if in a modified form. Denmark, Sweden and Japan
are monarchies that are also social democracies. Saudia Arabia and
many of the Emirates and Kuwait are monarchies and most of the rest
of that region are pure 7th Century despots. If they want to compete
with us then they should free their populations.
Don't blame us for their stupidity.
